Smoke & CO Detector Service FAQ

These are the practical questions homeowners ask before scheduling detector maintenance or replacement.

Call (303) 880-9881 See flat pricing

What does the basic service include?

The $125 visit includes new standard batteries in up to six detectors plus cleaning, testing and inspection of every detector in the home.

How old is too old for a smoke alarm?

Replace smoke alarms at ten years. Read the date on the back; an indicator light does not establish remaining sensor life.

How old is too old for a CO alarm?

Use the manufacturer’s replace-by date. CO alarm life varies by model, commonly within five to ten years.

How many alarms should a home have?

Smoke alarms belong in every bedroom, outside each separate sleeping area and on every level, including the basement. CO guidance calls for alarms on every level and outside sleeping areas, with Colorado requirements applying to covered homes.

Can I remove a chirping battery?

No. Identify whether it is a maintenance chirp or emergency alarm and address the cause. If the warning is unclear, leave the home and call 911.

Do hardwired alarms have batteries?

Most have backup power for outages. Depending on the model, that may be a replaceable battery or a sealed long-life backup.

What areas do you serve?
